Bullying Canada
Founded in 2006, BullyingCanada is a free bilingual donor-funded organization with 24/7/365 national support that helps counsel and assist bullied children and youth. The organization counsels its participants until they find a way to end being bullied. This process can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a year of support by BullyingCanada. They have a team of Volunteer Support Responders and Professional Counselors which make one-on-one connections with the participants by phone, texting, online chat and email. In 2021, BullyingCanada handled 787,035 requests for help. This was a record number of requests the organization received - 6.2 times more than before the Covid19 pandemic. The organization also delivers over 4000 educational presentations across Canada on bullying prevention and their website was visited 53 million times.
BullyingCanada is a donor-funded organization that relies on the support of volunteers and counselors to provide bullied children and youth with the support they need. As a donor-funder registered charitable organization they required accurate up to date information to reach out to potential donors to help fund their organizations outreach efforts. They were using a combination of Google and other corporate databases which they found unreliable making it incredibly difficult to reach the corporate donors or a specific contact at a company.
Using Scott’s Directories, BullyingCanada was able to export a list of potential donors with contact information to use in fundraising outreach. Scott’s Directories allowed the organization to pull a list of businesses who can assist and execute a direct mail fundraising campaign. They were able to connect with the right contact at these businesses and use the list to access potential donors as well. As a result, Scott’s Directories has saved the organization time.As they have a small National team spread out across Canada the business information was easily shared for their volunteers.
